UFLI Tile Strong

Help me give my students 3D Acrylic cut UFLI tiles. With these materials we will be able to make sturdy tiles instead of the cardstock tiles we are currently using that break down.

Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

I would like to make tiles for our word work mats that last all year long. These Acrylic sheets will allow me to make UFLI tiles with letters. These letters will then be part of the UFLI mats that we made last year. They will replace the letters that were made of cardstock that broke down and got ripped apart through use.

The acrylic letters will be durable and strong to aid in learning strong UFLI skills.

Through the use of the letters all the students in 1st and 2nd grade will practice sounding out words, manipulating sounds and rearranging letters to match the sounds that they hear. My students are special because they come from all different areas of the world to Indiana to want to learn our language. They try their hardest every day. I have all different levels and this program helps them all.

Through this practice and recognition is what makes us better, stronger and brighter readers.
