Help me give my students a dynamic learning opportunity to connect classroom content to real-world events!

My Students
UAI is an all-girls, public high school in Brooklyn, NY. As a school that predominantly serves young women of color, we strive to empower our students to gain the capacity, skills, and confidence required to succeed in the STEM fields.
In my US History classroom, students experience history through the investigation of primary sources and peer discussions.
As a result, students confidently interrogate historical events and their connections to societal issues/events in 2019. Recognizing this connection, students are empowered to make a change in their local communities. The senior classes have spearheaded projects to combat domestic violence against immigrants, gentrification in Brooklyn, and the funding of public schools in NYC. UAI students are passionate about social justice and strive to make the world a better place.
My Project
Please help the 10th graders at UAI fundraise for their field trip to Washington D.C. this spring! Students will explore the National Museum of African American History and Culture, Arlington National Cemetery, and the National Mall. Students will also tour Morgan State University, a historically black university in Baltimore, Maryland.
As predominately young women of color, my students often feel underrepresented in the US government.
By travelling to Washington D.C., our nation's capital, students will not only expand their understanding of U.S. History but will be inspired to engage as active citizens and advocate for their local communities.
Please help my students offset the cost of this trip! Many students cannot afford this trip on their own. Help make this dynamic learning opportunity possible for them and donate whatever you can!
