Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach in a Title I school in Nebraska where 88% of my students receive free or reduced breakfast and lunch. Even though we live in the heart of America, we live in a community filled with vast diversity. 50% of the students that attend my school are English Language Learners. My students consistently are fighting adversity.
I know I that I cannot change what happens outside of my classroom door but I want to be a light of inspiration for my students as much as possible while they are inside the four walls of my classroom.
I want to prepare capable and lifelong learners for the challenges and opportunities in their future. I want to do everything in my power to provide my students with the best learning environment that I can.
My Project
The items I am requesting will be used immediately by my new 3rd graders this month! The wobble cushions and wobble chairs will help students who have trouble sitting and focusing for long periods of time. The goal is to give them tools to become successful. The stools will be another choice for students to use in the classroom to help them with their learning focus.
I also added some STEM items to help the students think and problem solve during math time and other free times in the day.
These items are very hands-on and engaging to all students!
