Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Our students come with a lot of baggage in their lives. They look to the classroom for security and support. The majority of our school is economically disadvantaged and face a lot of struggles at home. They are excited and eager to learn but often don't have the tools they need and support to do so.

This year my goal is create a bright and energizing place for them to learn and grow with a strong team around them.

They are ready to learn!

My Project

My students need Chromebooks and headphones for technology instruction. More and more testing is done online and my students need the opportunity to practice typing and keyboard skills. They can’t show what they know without proper practice and resources. We also use an individualized computer program that creates lessons for children at their own level in math and reading.

We don’t have many computers available so right now their time on this program is limited.

With these resources, I can assure that my students are ready for the technology skills needed in the real world. I would also be able to provide them more opportunities on the program that helps each of them on an individual basis!
