Typing Our Way Into Creativity!

My Students

Due to the pandemic, my students were unable to focus on writing and editing in person. We are a one to one school with iPads, however, it is difficult for some of my students to type on the iPad. Therefore, I would love to buy a class set of keyboards to make typing easier and help them to learn the skills of keyboarding. I teach in an urban a school in Cleveland where the poverty level is high, but their creativity levels are even higher. were given iPads, most without keyboards. I want them to be able to expand their writing through without the struggle and stress of typing on the screen. My students are extremely dedicated and hardworking and do not need any road blocks!

My Project

I am requesting five keyboards with stands so my students can practice and learn keyboarding skills! The students will use the keyboards in our English Language Arts and Reading class where we have a diverse range of abilities. Keyboards are one of the most important input devices for iPads and computers.

By having keyboards with their iPads, students can worry less about the difficulty of typing on their screen and can focus on being creative in their writing while learning necessary skills for the 21st century.

Students, especially our students on IEPs, can benefit from having this hands on keyboard since writing is a strong focus on class.
