My Project

Type 1 diabetes affects about 1 in 400 children, adolescents, and young adults under 20 years of age. With new technology it becomes easier to monitor and manage T1D while at school to keep those students safe and well.

It is important for the school nurse to have dedicated monitoring tools such as an iPad that is compatible with continuous glucose monitoring in order to have a constant visual of multiple diabetic student's blood sugars.

The sooner the nurse is aware of a blood sugar that is out of range, the sooner the nurse can treat that student and return them to class safe and healthy.
