This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are inquisitive learners. They love to learn and try their best. They are caring and kind towards each other. They come from Hispanic households in which family is an important part of one's identity. Therefore, our classroom family is also an important part of their learning environment.

These students attend a low-income school in Chicago.

We strive to encourage their academic development but also their social and emotional needs. Sometimes it is hard to meet their needs based on the resources we have, so as educators we have to be as creative as possible.

These children are so excited to learn and are so responsible with the materials that they have. They understand that it is a privilege to have the resources that they do have, and therefore it is their responsibility to take care of them.

My Project

We will be starting hybrid in March and I will need to meet the needs of students in the classroom at the same time that students at home. In order to do my job better I would love to have another screen in order to be able to divide my time better. I am trying to be as effective with my teaching by meeting the needs of both groups. Having two screens will be a great help. It would allow for me to be able to see all the students at home while being able to present for the students in the classroom.
