Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
In the heart of the Bronx, NYC, our Title I middle school strives to educate and empower individual thinkers to make a positive impact in the world. Serving students from diverse cultural backgrounds, cognitive abilities, and academic strengths, we intend to minimize the achievement gap that pushes our students to the back of the line in terms of access and equity.
WE TEACH, WE LEARN, WE LOVE.
Combining data-driven instructional models and strong social-emotional learning supports, our scholars graduate knowing they were loved and cared for while in our school building. Our students offer their voices, historically unheard; their talent, previously untapped; and their success, often underestimated.
Our Drama and Arts department is dedicated to working alongside learners to artistically engage curiosity and to ask and answer "bigger questions." We envision a thriving performing arts culture throughout our school building that encourages risk-taking and reflective practice while celebrating the power of creation and expression.
My Project
The Two Screens project is an amazing and thoughtful initiative aimed at providing a second computer monitor to educators across the country to improve remote teaching and learning.
Two screens are better than one!
For the purpose of organizing and displaying curricular content and managing a variety of digital resources and materials, teachers rely on the ability to maximize the amount of screen space available. This supports a teacher in taking attendance while live video conferencing, switching student view between a collection of different application windows, and monitoring chat features for student inquiry and engaged participation.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
