They are still learning how to use the cameras, but they've already been fascinated by the images they've captured, thus far. They are even more fascinated by capturing themselves and one another. You have also helped my students start recognizing their own beauty and learning how to become more confident in themselves. (This is extremely important for the age group that I am teaching.)\r\n\r\nThey're beginning to understand the unique power of instant film. They are starting to understand that each photo is one-of-a-kind and cannot be duplicated. We'll continue exploring this concept as we learn more about how Polaroid cameras work.\r\n\r\nYour contribution has allowed my students the opportunity to become storytellers, historians, and artists. Soon, they'll begin a project connected to our partnership with a local museum: choosing a painting or sculpture they love and recreating it through a Polaroid photograph. They are ready for each day, and that brings all of us peace. \r\n\r\nOur students face many challenges. However, this toolbox has provided so many solutions. This box has motivated students to be independent. Students no longer have to ask for anything, but understand that their tools are within reach. I don't need to ask for that, I have it right here in my box.\"\r\n\r\nThere are so many problems our students face in their lives, but you are a big part of the solution, because my students are well-equipped to create solutions in one of the settings that matter most —the classroom. In the past, many of our students had limited opportunities to see their writing, projects, and visuals come to life in print. Now, they can hold their work in their hands, annotate it, and share it proudly with peers and families. This tangible connection has been especially powerful for English Language Learners, who benefit from having printed scaffolds, translations, and graphic organizers to support their language development.\r\n\r\nOne of the most exciting aspects for students has been printing personalized bilingual resources that help them bridge their home language with English. For example, students at the entering and emerging levels have printed word banks and sentence frames they can reference throughout lessons. Meanwhile, our more advanced learners have created and printed essays, poems, and even bilingual newsletters to showcase their voices. Having their work printed makes learning feel more authentic and gives them a sense of accomplishment.\r\n\r\nWe have already seen students who were once hesitant to participate become more engaged, motivated, and confident. A few of our newcomers, who arrived this year with little English, now light up when they receive printed vocabulary lists or reading passages tailored to their needs. This project has not only enhanced access to resources but also boosted students' pride in their progress. Your support has truly made a difference in helping our multilingual learners succeed academically and feel valued in our classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1746785605041,"projectUrl":"project/printing-pathways-enhancing-learning-fo/9128826/","projectTitle":"Printing Pathways: Enhancing Learning for Multilingual Students","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Caraballo","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8111255_orig.jpg?crop=306,306,x13,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1740490265346","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8111255"},{"teacherId":9734837,"projectId":9342524,"letterContent":"Thank you for helping us bring structure, clarity, and empowerment into our routines. One student exclaimed, \"We're going to make the best projects ever!\" It was such a joy to witness their enthusiasm and anticipation for the work ahead.\r\n\r\nWe've already put these materials to great use. One of the first projects we tackled was creating a \"Participatory Budgeting Proposal Showcase,\" where students worked in groups to design realistic proposals for improving our school community. Watching them take ownership of their learning and seeing their creativity shine was truly inspiring.\r\n\r\nAs we move forward, we are diving into a unit on U.S. government and civic participation.
