My students need an Apple iPad for literacy and math activities. We have one to share already. A second iPad will give more students access to this great learning tool!
My students attend a large public school in a large city. Most do not have access to technology at home. The only place they can use tech tools is in school. Technology enhances learning in my classroom, and I want to make sure that my students have many opportunities to use it.
My second graders have been with me since first grade.
We know each other well. Technology is important to me, and so my students are very tech savvy. Currently, we have an iPad that we use during Daily Five literacy activities, and math stations. I know how valuable a classroom iPad is. A second iPad will allow more students to enhance, enrich, and strengthen their skills every day.
My Project
My students need an Apple iPad for literacy and math activities. We have one to share already. A second iPad will give more students access to this great learning tool! We use our iPad for so many things! For example:
*We use FaceTime to "talk" to our Pen Pals from another school, and a student teacher we miss very much.
*We use literacy apps such as Raz-kids, Spelling City, and Tumblebooks during language arts instruction.
*We use the Xtra Math and Scoot Pad apps while working through our math stations.
*We also listen to books, practice our writing, conduct research, take photos, and track the weather.
I know there are many other things we can do with an iPad. You can never have enough of a good thing. Another iPad would enhance our learning even more!
My project is important because it puts technology in the hands of students, and gives them a valuable tool to enhance, enrich, support, and strengthen their skills.
Many of my students don't have this opportunity outside of my classroom. Although my school deems technology to be an important learning tool, they don't have the funding to provide the tools we need in our classroom. Your donation will help us make this possible!
