Help me give my students an actively engaged classroom with a second monitor to pull up videos, slides, and activities to present while seeing the students online.
I teach in a large urban district and I love the diversity that my students bring to the classroom. Many speak different languages and learning English. They bring joy to the classroom with a desire to learn and exceed.
The students come from many different home types.
Some may live with grandparents that are raising them. Some struggle to have clean uniforms or enough uniforms. They still have a big heart and don't know the opportunities that some are missing out on by being in a lower socio-economic class. This is what they know and I want them to have many opportunities to have what other kids have at wealthier schools.
My Project
With a second monitor, I will be able to see my students when they are online and also be able to pull up slides, videos, clips, and books while able to maintain seeing my kindergarten students on my computer. While students are remote learning I am trying to engage them with different activities. I would also like to enhance the sound for them and me. I would like headphones with a microphone so I don't feel like I am yelling into the computer. The headphones would also block outside noise.
It becomes monotonous for kindergarten students to just watch me.
I can see only a few kids while presenting my screen and I have seen the students dancing, singing, and actively engaged. I'd like to see all.
