My Project

The creative process is something that comes easily to many of my Special Education students. It is a source of pride for them to share the final product of something they created. For this project, I am requesting t-shirts, dye, and rubber bands to complete a tie dying project in collaboration with our Speech Language Pathologist. With the the end of the year approaching, there will be many events and opportunities where they will be exposed to a potential audience through field day, field trips, school plays, special events within the school, and step up days to their next school.

Tie Dying is a highly motivating and fun way to motivate my creatively abled students with by building classroom community and self esteem.

The goal is to build classroom community through a direction following lesson. This project is to showcase student strength in the creative process and build student self-esteem. By wearing their shirts through the end of the year, my students will be able to display their creations and as the summer months approaches my students will end the school year on a happy note.
