Twisted : Help Students Straighten It All Out!

My students need 30 copies of Laurie Halse Anderson's amazing young adult novel, "Twisted".

My Students

Do you remember sitting in school desperately trying to "figure it all out"? Well, this book will definitely grab students' attention and do just that!

I am looking to get these books for 11th grades students who are eager to read "real" stories.

They describe themselves as "non-readers" yet they gobble up these types of tales! They live in an urban community and come from many different types of families. Yet, this book will help them to realize the connections that as people we all have.

My Project

This book will help my students in many ways. Not only will they become better reader and writers, but the lively discussions that they will have will change their lives forever. With this book, I look forward to discussing "real life" issues, having guest speakers, and keeping diaries and journals to share personal connections. This book tells the story of a teenage boy who is struggling to figure life out, and this book will do just that for my students!

With your support, my students will gain the opportunity to read a book that will change their lives!

My students will devour this character and his problems and work to help him figure life out. In the meanwhile, it will help them to do just that! Thank you.
