The students are faced with the challenge of making short films, filming school events (sports, plays, musical etc.), and producing a daily announcement show with increasingly outdated equipment. We need to update the cameras, get wireless mics, find new lighting, and accessories for equipment.
My students are so wonderful and talented.
They are brilliant future film makers in the 9th through 12th grade. These students come into the classroom on their own time after school, on weekends, and over the summer to work on their projects. They WANT to learn. This is their passion. They produce a daily announcement show each morning as well as a weekly variety show. They also record school events such as the musical, play, graduation, sporting events etc. We must fund raise for all of our equipment. Our school, like many others, only has so much money to go around. We still need about 10 digital camcorders, 2-3 professional cameras, lighting and audio equipment to upgrade the studio into the digital age. I owe it to them to teach them using equipment that is actually being used in the industry. Thank you for your help!
My Project
Getting this camera will start our long process of finding the equipment we need. The kids will be learning how to use new technology that is being used in the industry, and they will be familiar with that technology/equipment when they go off to college, film school, or into the field itself.
Every journey begins with a single step and this is our first step to upgrading our studio to compete in a digital world.
We have very limited resources to work with and donations and fund-raising are our only way to upgrade our studio.
