My Students
My 6th grade math and science students are starting middle school by coming to the classroom after the COVID-19 pandemic. They are kind, helpful, and curious students.
Many of my students are bilingual, they will use digital storytelling and videos to learn and share science content.
My Project
My students need a TV and rolling cart to visualize, as a class, science phenomenons. The students are returning to the classroom and it is important to create community. A large TV will allow students to view videos and their work as they learn science content. As a teacher, I can provide think alouds to scaffold learning for my students as we view a video together. This year, I am focusing on storytelling with my students. I want my students to create digital stories, which they will share on the large TV for the entire class.
As students return to the classroom, they will create digital stories about science concepts.
The TV will be used to share projects and support students in learning science concepts through videos.
The majority of my students are EL learners, visual materials are important for them to understand science concepts that are unfamiliar and familiar to them.
