Turning Wearables into Masterpieces

Help me give my students the opportunity to upcycle clothing in my advanced art classes, fashion club, & art club. The variety of materials will allow them choose their own item while saving the environment by recycling.

My Project

I would like to inspire my students to upcycle an otherwise unworn piece of clothing or accessory into a unique and personalized work of art. Many of my art students have been asking for this opportunity as I have tried to open their mind to the various types of art in our world.

These supplies(fabric paint, buttons, needles, acrylic markers,

tie-dye containers, ribbons)would allow them to be able to:

1) Choose their own item they would like to upcycle

2) Have enough options to make their item truly unique

3) Stay motivated with the wealth of materials for their use

4) Understand how each act of upcycling can help our environment

5) Finish off the year with a project that will both keep them inspired, be useful, and make an impact on the world they live in.

Ms. Stifel will only receive her materials if this project is fully funded by August 22.
