I work with about 300 students in grades K - 5 in a small, inner city school that is tucked into a neighborhood. As the literacy coach for my building, I work closely with the math coach to create engaging schoolwide events for our students and their families. These events include Math and Reading nights, Donuts with Dads, Mother's Day Tea, and Field Day. All of these events require the use of easy to move and set up tables and covers.
This year we saw an overwhelming increase in the number of families coming out to our events!
We are ecstatic to see this increase in family engagement, but this means that in order to accommodate all of our families, we need more tables. These tables will allow us to create extra seating at events, as well as multiple extra stations at which students can complete activities during our curriculum nights. Having the extra space means our students and families will not be cramped during our events and will have more opportunity to engage in hands on activities.
