Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach a group of amazing third-grade students, many of whom are working hard to overcome challenges with reading. Some of my students have dyslexia or other learning differences that make it difficult for them to read grade-level materials without constant support.
What I love most about my students is their determination—they want to do the work on their own, but sometimes the text gets in the way.
This is where a pen scanner and text-to-speech device can make a real difference. It allows them to access reading materials independently by scanning the text and having it read aloud.
This tool will help them grow their confidence, stay engaged, and feel successful in class—without always having to wait for help. With your support, my students can develop the skills they need to become more independent and empowered learners.
