My Students

My students are a great bunch of 2nd graders who come to school eager and excited to learn. They each have their own personality that they let shine. They work hard every day to do their very best, and that is all I can ask for.

We are always laughing and having fun while learning.

I teach at a Title 1 school, and some of the students have very little home support. We do our best to learn everything we possibly can at school.

My Project

Writing is a crucial part of English Language Arts. My students will participate in a Writers' Workshop model of writing. This structure includes a mini lesson (where mentor books are read), independent writing time, and sharing time. This model will help the students create the best writing pieces possible.

The mentor texts included in this project will give students an example of a great piece of writing.

They will use these texts as a model for their own writing. I can't wait to see what my writers can create after using the mentor texts! Let's turn these readers into writers!
