Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This project will provide my students with access to rich literature that brings history to life. By learning through literature, students can connect with the past in an impactful and meaningful way. My goal is to carefully pick books will allow them to explore different points of view from the early days of America through Reconstruction, helping them better understand the complexity of our nation’s story.

Reading historical narratives, memoirs, and fiction grounded in real events will deepen their understanding of U.S.

history. It will also increase their love for reading. This project will support students in becoming critical thinkers and empathetic learners as they discover how individual voices have shaped and continue to shape our country.
