This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am writing to you today with immense enthusiasm to request funding for new and engaging books for my second-grade classroom at our Elementary in Chicago, Illinois. As dedicated educators, we strive to foster a lifelong love of reading in our students, and access to a diverse and captivating collection of books is fundamental to achieving this goal.
With a grant of $200, we aim to revitalize our classroom library with a carefully curated selection of high-quality books.
This would include:
Diverse Literature: Books that reflect the rich cultural backgrounds and experiences of our students, promoting inclusivity and understanding.
High-Interest Titles: Engaging fiction and non-fiction books covering a variety of topics to spark curiosity and cater to individual interests.
Leveled Readers: A range of books at different reading levels to support differentiated instruction and ensure every student can find books that challenge and encourage them.
Award-Winning Authors and Illustrators: Books that exemplify excellent storytelling and captivating visuals, inspiring young readers and writers.
These new books will directly impact the learning and growth of my 30 second-grade students by:
Improving Literacy Skills:
Fostering a Love of Reading:
Expanding Knowledge and Understanding:
Creating a Vibrant Learning Environment: An enriched classroom library will create a more stimulating and inviting space for exploration and discovery.
We are committed to making the most of this opportunity. We are confident that these resources will have a lasting positive impact on our students' academic journey and their development as lifelong learners.
