This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I currently teach in a Dual language classroom at Ps.4. The students are the sweetest most loving group of five year olds. We are currently learning about plants and its needs. I Would like to see this project grow into a small green house for the school. We would like to create a Stem lab that house green plants 🌱 using indoor plant lights , timers , and stands. This would allow students to get an experience with plants needs and cultivate the concept of growing the food we need.

My Project

By allowing students an opportunity to physically observe the process in which a plant grows and the needs and time it take will effect the way students interact with the greenery around. Paying more attention and have the knowledge to take care of the needs for a plant. Plants are vital to our ecosystem and the CO2 in which we breathe. By allowing students to seeing the connection they will be able to walk away from this experience knowledgeable. They will be able to cure vegetables and fruit if wanted or needed. They will be able to learn basic botany and how plants can be used to help heal our wounds like ALOE.
