My Project
This summer I read the book Building Thinking Classrooms in Mathematics by Peter Liljedahl. In the book, he talked about the thinking that happens when students do work on what he calls "Vertical Non-Permanent Surfaces." I am changing how I do things in my classroom to get students to do more thinking.
My students are doing work on vertical whiteboards posted on the walls throughout my classroom.
To facilitate this learning, I need whiteboard markers and erasers for them to show their thinking while working on the vertical surfaces. After the first activity we did like this, students started asking when we would do it again. So I need lots of whiteboard markers so that they can keep doing math and enjoying it!
