This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
As an educator, I believe that students should have access to books at all times. These fun rotating bookshelves allow students to have full access to a variety of different books while allowing the classroom to stay clutter free. My goal for the shelves is for students to have easier access to the classroom library that way they can reach their AR goals more efficiently. My students love to read during centers, down town, and while waiting for the morning meeting to start. I believe that these bookshelves are going to encourage them to want to read even more.
The data and research are clear – children who have access to print reading materials have better literacy outcomes.
Students who read become better thinkers, talkers, and writers. Books allow students to explore new places and learn new things. These bookshelves will allow students to find books that they can dive into without having the hassle of a normal classroom library.
