I am a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district. My students are faced with several challenges, both in and out of the classroom.
My students are an amazing group of third graders who are eager to learn and explore.
They are living a growth-mindset philosophy, embracing the new learning experiences and challenges and are ready to stretch and grow their brain muscle. Children are like sponges, ready to soak up everything. It is my pleasure and duty to help shape their precious minds to love learning and be successful.
My Project
Recently, my third grade class received a Chromebook cart. My students are so excited to take advantage of this opportunity. However, we are not able to use the computers to their fullest potential until we have headphones to allow students to work on reading programs without disturbing others.
My students also need headphones to be able to clearly hear computer prompts and videos while using their Chromebook.
I envision creating a technology center where students will use online programs individualized to their needs, and with your support this can happen.
With these headphones I will be able to take advantage of the computers that have been donated and incorporate the use of technology in my reading and math curriculum.
