My Students

Welcome to my classroom of 16 2nd graders. 100% of my students receive free and reduced lunch and over half live in public housing. The majority of my students are being raised by single parents or even grandparents and great grandparents. Despite my student's struggles, they are eager to learn and get very excited when it comes to school. For many, school is the one thing that is consistent in their lives and they love it! This year has been an exceptionally challenging year for my students as we are learning to navigate distance learning.

My goal is to expose my students to as many experiences as possible even as we are in distance learning.

I hope to enrich their lives and create a passion within them for life long learning. I also hope to prepare them for a successful future by giving them the skills they need to compete in the world.

My Project

These materials are critical teaching tools that will help my to help my students succeed both in distance learning and in class. I will be taking students on virtual field trips, conducting science labs, and conducting Webex meetings with my students so we can continue to move their education forward.

I will also be using Flexcil and Notability on an iPad Pro to hold interactive experiences to engage my students.

This will allow me to use videos, annotate, drop and drag materials to better enhance my students' learning experiences.

This iPad will empower me to connect with my students in innovative ways in uncertain times!
