Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

The majority of our students live below the poverty line and are not afforded real world educational experiences outside of our school walls.

Our goal is to help our students experience educational opportunities that they would otherwise be denied due to their social economic status.

Our school is rich in culture and diversity. We have 27 languages spoken, students with behavioral and emotional disabilities, a wonderful special education department, and we are trying to bridge the gap to make a more cohesive and well rounded education.

My Project

These tunnels would help us make fitness fun! They are perfect for scooter games. Scooter activities help improve core strength and balance in a way that is far more engaging than curl ups and crunches.

Core strength improves posture and helps prevent back pain and injuries.

My goal as an elementary Physical Education teacher is to expose our students to a variety of activities that provide them with opportunities to develop a love of being active that will last a lifetime. Not all of our students will become athletes, but they can all learn to live a healthy, active lifestyle!
