My students are excited about learning - especially when the lessons are hands on and STEM based! As part of my media curriculum, I use literature to engage their imagination and then provide them a chance to use STEM activities to extend the story!
These kits will allow my K-5th grade students the opportunity to work with a group of classmates to solve a specific design challenge based on our readings in class.
For example, after reading "If I Built A House" by Chris Van Dusen, students might use the STEM Chain Reaction sets to design the way that they would leave their house every morning, or maybe how they would make breakfast. After reading "Run, Mo, Run!" by David Adler, they could use the marble runs to see which team's marble won the race. The possibilities are endless!
