This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students love music class! They enjoy learning about rhythms, instruments, music genres, composers, and melodies. The best part is them singing, moving to music, playing games, and playing instruments. Music isn't just a subject to be learned about, but a subject to experience!

My Project

One big aspect of teaching any tunable instrument is how to tune the instrument. A good ear is important, but technology has made it very easy, even for the novice. My students are receiving classroom ukuleles, but it takes weeks/months to get them tuned up so they stay in tune.

These tuners are very easy for students to use.

We just clip it on, watch the screen, and turn the tuning peg. The tuners are run on batteries, so they need replacement batteries. They also need extra strings to replace broken strings.
