Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
How often does a familiar song or jingle stop you in your tracks, put a smile on your face or start you singing all the words that you didn't realize you knew? Songs work that way in the classroom. As a teacher I have a collection of songs that teach, motivate and even manage my classroom.
I teach 25 eager, inspired, intelligent, creative, and excited kindergarten students, in a culturally diverse neighborhood in the inner city.
Every day at school is a day to be with their friends and learn something new. We are at a science, math and technology school and I am asking for help keeping up with technology and inspiring young mathematicians and scientists.
My Project
There are so many new and classic music pieces written to inspire and engage young learners that I want to be able to use these songs in my classroom without CD skips or changing CDs between lessons. Putting all of our songs on MP3 playlists, will not only make it easier for the teacher to organize by topic and genre, but it will also make it easier for my students to access, during independent listening centers or for presentations.
If you give to this project, you will be providing a boom box that is compatible with our class ipod and the teacher can play our class songs by remote.
You will also be helping us to acquire 250 more songs to help with science and math concepts, reinforce language/vocabulary and transitioning between lessons. Music makes everything better and your support will make our classroom better. Thank you for your support.
