My Students

My high school music students are awesome! To be quite honest they make my job so easy. Every day they come in ready for whatever I have to throw at them, and they rise to the occasion. They are a small, younger group, but they are working hard and truly making some great things happen.

The enthusiasm that they bring to rehearsals and performances is intoxicating.

They love what they do, and they are not afraid to show it. I am already so proud of what they have accomplished, and I have only been working with them for a short period of time.

My Project

My project is two fold. The one half of my project will affect my woodwind and brass players. I am new to our high school band program and I am working towards my students being more independent in there musical decision making and musicianship. That is where the tuners come in. This tool will allow them to keep track in real time how their individual sound and tone is effecting the groups performance. The second half of my project will affect my percussion section. The instruments in this section have been neglected over the years and I am working towards upgrading them so my percussion students can perform to their fullest in every rehearsal and concert.

My students absolutely love making and learning music.

They are always eager to do what it takes to make our music shine and grow as musicians. My goal is to give them as many tools as I can to help them achieve whatever they set their minds to when it comes to music.
