My class is comprised of autistic and intellectual-moderate and mild children. I teach 6th, 7th and 8th grades. I am required to teach all subjects and many levels (from the beginner, struggling readers to student students are on or above 3rd grade ) across the curriculum. My area is high poverty and low socioeconomic with many kids experiencing floods and displaced living conditions. Students are still adjusting to their new living arrangements because of the renovations of their homes.
Through all the physical challenges, I still believe that my students have a chance to thrive and overcome obstacles because learning is a necessity to a successful and productive life no matter their intellectual disabilities.
I believe and teach that no matter your disability, you have the right to learn the same information that the general education students does.
Many of my students do not have the financial means to be afforded the opportunity to exposure that is needed, in order, to be knowledgeable about their community and world. As their teacher, I believe it is my job to provide that exposure, as much as possible and help them to become aware of their world.
I have a class of 12 students, and they all have Chromebooks to complete their daily classroom assignments in math, science, social studies, and language arts along with their individual research projects and Google Slide Presentations but they are not able listen to their assignments and educational videos because they don't have the headphones needed.
Many of my students do not have the headphones they need to block out the noises from other students' Chromebooks.
I have students that are Autistic which are easily distracted, so having iClever Kids Headphones will help them to stay focus and complete their classwork assignments without frustration.
