This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Paper and pencil is old news! In my 5th grade classroom I am working on fostering those 21st century skills. “We need technology in every classroom and in every student and teacher’s hand, because it is the pen and paper of our time, and it is the lens through which we experience much of our world."
The students in my classroom are full of energy and eager to learn.
Our school is a Bring Your Own Technology school and students always want to use technology to complete projects and assignments. The students in my school are low-income, so bringing the technology from home isn't possible for some students in my class and the school.
My Project
With the 5 Chromebooks, my students will foster their 21st century skills. Students will research and complete projects in science, math, and social studies. By researching, working in collaborative groups, and completing projects by deadlines, students will be college and career ready. Students will have a wealth of information at their fingertips and will be able to explore learning in a whole new light.
This project will change the overall morale of my classroom.
Students will be eager to use the new technology to research and complete projects. This will change my students' lives in the sense that these Chromebooks aren't something that they have at home or even in the classroom since the come from low-income homes.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
