Help me give my students lanyards for an organizational strategy to choose a center, dry erase boards for a fun way to learn to write, and a laminator and laminating sheets to protect teaching resources.
I teach a precious group of 3- and 4-year-old preschoolers in a small rural town. Many of these students live in a low socioeconomic home with working parents trying to make ends meet for the family. Needless to say, most of these parents trust me as the teacher to educate their children since they cannot contribute much time to help with academics at home.
I have a loving, helpful, hardworking group of preschoolers that want to be learn to be kindergarten ready.
My Project
As a first year teacher, I am starting to collect materials that will be beneficial to reuse every year. I will use these materials to better my preschool classroom's organization and teaching methods.
The students will use the colored lanyards to establish which center they will play in to add structure to the chaos that can occur during play.
My students will utilize the whiteboards, markers, and erasers to learn how to write on the lines to get them kindergarten ready. Lastly, I will use the laminator and pouches to be able to reuse teaching materials throughout the years and to protect student artwork.
These materials will benefit my classroom environment by providing organization and fun learning experiences.
