My Students
My students have never seen TRUE science! They have yet to have a science based curriculum based on inquiry and self driven learning.
We are a rural school in Oklahoma who is beginning a departmentalized science curriculum, which will allow students to investigate the everyday science in the world around them.
As a first year program, we currently have no supplies! No books, No equipment, Nothing! Books are not needed if we can investigate properties ourselves!
My Project
We'd love to change our issue of lack of textbook resources into a strength! Students will be more engaged and interested if they are allowed to investigate and discover scientific properties with their own hands! Please help us buy basic measurement equipment to fill the void of resources and get this 1st year program off its feet!
My project will impact 120 fifth grade students.
Students will no longer learn about how to measure from a textbook, but rather through trial and error of their own teacher-guided experiments. This real world application of science will stay with them forever!
