My Project

Greetings from my vibrant 3rd grade classroom! I teach in an urban school and this year we are raising trout in our classroom to release into local waterways at the end of the year. This program and the supplies listed will help foster a love for learning through an immersive exploration of trout and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) activities. Our goal is to create an engaging and educational environment where students can dive into the world of aquatic life while simultaneously developing essential STEAM skills.

Trout serve as fascinating subjects that allow the integration of various STEAM elements; the books in this project will help my students to research trout and their environmental impact on local waterways.

From studying their life cycle (Science) to creating trout habitats (Engineering) and exploring artistic expressions inspired by their environment (Arts), this project will seamlessly incorporate multiple disciplines.

Real-World Connections: Understanding the life cycle of trout and the ecosystems they inhabit provides real-world context for science and environmental studies. Students will connect theoretical knowledge with practical applications, fostering a deeper appreciation for the interconnectedness of nature.
