it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach seventh grade English in a middle school in NYC. One of the aspects I love best about my job and the specific neighborhood I teach in is the diversity of the area. I teach 3 classes - one class is comprised of English Language Learners. Many of these students are brand new to the country, and do not speak any English. Some have had prior schooling, while others have not had much schooling at all. I also teach two other classes of general education students, but unfortunately the majority read far below grade level. The only difference between these students and others in wealthier towns is where they began in life.
Please help close that gap and allow these kids the opportunity to learn in a 21st century classroom.

My Project
Please help me provide my students with a 21st century classroom that is designed to help ensure success and engagement. Students should not be forced to sit still in an austere environment any longer. Research has shown us that many students need to move in order to stay engaged. Yet, unfortunately too many kids have given up on school because they were turned off the old way of learning and sitting in a classroom. Please help NYC middle schoolers NOT get discouraged about learning and stay engaged by using alternative seating that so many students today need. These wobble seats will give them the opportunity to stay in classrooms and learn as well as provide their body with what it needs in order to learn and focus.
Help students remain engaged in school and learning by simply providing alternative seating which allows and encourages movement in the classroom.
