Imagine looking forward to being in band, and then finding out you are unable to afford to rent or buy your own instrument. This is the challenge facing many of the students wanting to join in our band program.
My Project
Our school services inner-city students in Ohio, and we are one of the few schools in the area with a music program! This is the first year for the band program, and we have a great deal of interest in joining, but very few of our students can afford to purchase or rent their own instrument. This concern is keeping a large number of students from participating, and we would love to have a collection of school instruments that we could loan to those who otherwise couldn't afford to be in band!
