My Students

It is always hard when a parent contacts you and lets you know that due to circumstances at home, they will no longer be able to rent their child's instrument. It is even worse when it's a student that truly loves band and is really rocking their instrument. The only trombone I have available right now has a catch in the slide around fourth position. Please help me provide a working horn to a promising young musician!

We are a Title I school in a rural area, and this year all of our students receive free breakfast and lunch.

We have over 400 students currently enrolled in grades sixth through eighth. I currently teach two band classes for 6th, 7th, and 8th grades and have over 130 students enrolled in band.

My Project

To have a successful band program, students need working instruments. Currently, I have many students that enroll in band, and due to financial constraints at home, are unable to provide their own instruments. Our band program receives no school budget funds for the repair or purchase of school-owned instruments. Your contribution will allow not only the student that will use the horn this year to be successful but students for years to come.

I do my best to always find instruments for students to play, but it is hard for them to stay on track if there is mechanical problems with their instruments.

The addition of a dependable trombone to our school instrument inventory will allow many more students to be successful in the band program.
