Help me give my students soft baby dolls they can love and care for as well as an emotions chart they can use to express their feelings and respond to the feelings of others.
I am beginning a new job in August and would like to start off with some tried-and-true favorite toys.
Over the years, my students have loved the soft, beautiful dolls that mirror the diversity in my classroom.
The doll carrier and stroller are also favorite items as children take pretend trips to the grocery store or park.
The feelings chart has been a daily staple, with children entering the room in the morning and placing their little wooden figure in the pocket to show how they feel. I can do a quick check and immediately see who needs an extra hug or check-in. During circle time, we discuss how our classmates are feeling, and children are given the opportunity to ask friends to help them feel better if they are feeling sad, worried, or angry.
