This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are energetic, four-year-olds who love to learn! Our class is made up of ten boys and twelve girls. Our small school is a kind and caring learning environment, nestled in a neighborhood just outside of downtown Los Angeles. Our population is diverse with students coming from many ethnic backgrounds. We have received the honors of Title I, High Achieving School, and California Distinguished School.
Some students are just learning to color pictures and stay between the lines, others are showing the ability to become very good artists and writers.
The use of triangular crayons and pencils is a natural fit in my student’s small hands, which helps with developmental motor skills to write, color, and draw.
The pencils, crayons, and storage containers will help students plan, design, and create when learning about science, math, art or reading. My little scientists will have fun creating and recording scientific experiments with their triangular tools.
More than half of students from low‑income households
