My 3 year-olds are some of the most amazing children I have ever met. They thrive while living in one of the most dangerous communities in our nation's capital. Some have gone through more in their young lives than many of us will ever have to endure in a lifetime. Yet every day, they walk down a hill to school where they are able to escape the violence of their neighborhood and find solace in our classroom. Despite all of the challenges they face outside the school walls, they still come to school each day ready and excited for the educational and enrichment opportunities being offered.
These tree-themed materials will support students' literacy, fine motor, and math development during our tree unit of study.
Students always have a blast during our tree unit of study. These materials will help to support their learning about trees while also engaging them in literacy, fine motor, and math development. The leaf letters will be used in our sensory center to support letter recognition. The letter bug shape match will be used in our table toys center to support number recognition. The stencils and leaf rubs will be used in our art center to support fine motor development.
