Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

As a teacher working in an international setting, I encountered initial difficulties in managing student behavior and maintaining control in the classroom. Despite these challenges, I found that employing strategies of positive reinforcement, such as offering rewards for exemplary performance in various aspects like class participation, test results, completing assignments, and displaying positive behavior, yielded significant improvements. Although this approach necessitates me personally providing the rewards, typically from my own resources, the results have been encouraging. I've observed a notable increase in students' motivation and enthusiasm to excel and progress academically, contributing to a more conducive learning environment overall.
