Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students will work for any currency! In the beginning of the year we work for stickers. Another form of currency is our "George's Money" from our token economy within the classroom. It is very hard to motivate each child, every day to do their best.
Imagine working towards a goal and not have any reward once you have achieved it.
My students love to work for different items in our treasure box. Some of their favorite items are erasers, slap bracelets, fidget toys, stress balls, notebooks, pencils, and many more items. With your help, I will be able to appeal to a wide variety of motivators in the classroom. They come to school each day ready to try new things and take brave chances in order to grow both personally and academically. Truly, they are my inspiration!
My Project
Treasure box prizes are a hot commodity in our third grade classroom. We have a token economy system where students are earning money for their real-world titled job. They cash their checks every two weeks at the "Bank". Their behavior chart is tied into earning money as well.
Everyone works for an incentive.
There are many other opportunities to earn other incentives within the day. Having the ability to keep the students interest in earning treasures is paramount in teaching how to keep themselves under control. With your help I will be able to keep their interest peaked with new and exciting treasures.
