This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The treasure box for positive behavior in my classroom is designed to motivate students by offering tangible rewards for good conduct, effort, and positive interactions. The specific items requested for the treasure box—such as stickers, small toys, and novelty items—serve as immediate incentives for students to consistently demonstrate positive behavior. These rewards make a difference by encouraging students to make better choices, promoting a more harmonious classroom environment, and reducing disruptive incidents. By acknowledging and rewarding positive behavior, students feel valued and are more likely to engage in class activities with enthusiasm and focus.

The primary goal of this project is to create a classroom culture that celebrates and reinforces positive behavior.

By establishing a system where students are rewarded for kindness, teamwork, and responsibility, the treasure box contributes to a supportive learning atmosphere. This approach aligns with my students' unique characteristics, as they are special because of their diverse backgrounds and varying needs. Many of them thrive on encouragement and recognition, making the treasure box an ideal way to boost morale and foster a sense of community. Ultimately, this project aims to cultivate a classroom where every student is motivated to contribute positively and where good behavior is consistently celebrated. The treasure box project supports my elementary school's goal of fostering students who embody Kindness, Learning, Responsibility, and Leadership by rewarding those who display these traits in the classroom. Through this project, students are encouraged to be compassionate, engaged in learning, accountable for their actions, and proactive in setting a positive example, reinforcing the school's core values.
