I am the art teacher at an elementary school in Wake County, North Carolina. I teach over 850 students in grades PreK-5 approximately once per week. At every grade level we have a need for solid surfaces other than tables and desks for students to use when they are drawing. The main reason for this is that sometimes we move to various locations on the school campus in order to draw from observation. Students cannot do a drawing from nature if they have nowhere to put their paper! Another thing that students like to do is to move to sit on the floor while they are working or want to have a board to lean up against the table so that they can draw at and angle. Drawing with the drawing surface at an angle is much easier for many students. Over the past three years I have managed to collect enough of the regular size clipboards to make a class set. These are great if we are using small paper. However, we often use paper larger than the clipboards for drawing, and I do not have a class set of the larger drawing boards so that we can all use them. I would like to do drawing projects that involve drawing from nature on 12 x 18 inch paper. I have a few drawing boards that are 19 x 19.5 inches with a clip to hold the paper in place on one end, a rubber band on the other end, and a carrying handle. Please help me make it a class set! I am asking for 18 of these special drawing boards for our traveling artists. Thank you for reading.
