I will be teaching 3rd grade in September in a new classroom. Can you believe that there isn't a rug in my new room? I use the rug quite often throughout the day for read alouds, class meetings, Writer's Workshop, Author's Corner, and independent reading time. My students will be able to use the rug as a class and for small group meetings. I would also be able to use this particular rug as a part of my social studies instruction. The 3rd grade social studies curriculum focuses on communities around the world. This rug has a map of the world and some flags of the different countries. We could use this rug to "travel" throughout the world as we learn about the communities around the world. Please allow my students to have a bright and comfortable place to sit while learning in my classroom!
