My Students
Experiencing history is the best way to learn it. In February of 2016 I will travel with students to London and Paris. We will take part is wonderful activities such as a theater workshop and impressionist painting class in addition to seeing all of the wonderful sites in London and Paris.
We are a Title 1 performing arts school that has been open for 14 years.
Our students maintain over 90% attendance rate and are very talented in all of their art forms, whether it is visual arts, instrumental music, drama, dance or vocal. I know that visiting such places as the Globe Theater in London and the Louvre Museum in Paris will be a truly magical lifetime experience for our art students.
My Project
As we go through our travels of our trip we will be seeing and experiencing so much. There is a very good chance of mental overdrive and memories mixing together. We are requesting journals for our students so that they can record their emotions and reactions as we explore London and Paris each day. This way students will have a day by day account of their travels that they can look back to for a lifetime.
A pen coupled with paper can serve as a powerful life tool.
Journaling is an ancient tradition and many successful and important historical figures have kept journals. Through their journals students will be able to integrate their life experiences and their classroom lessons while enhancing their self expression.
