Help me give my students the opportunity to work where they are comfortable. These floor seats will allow them to move around the room to work. Students work well when they are allowed to change where they sit.
Traveling back and forth between schools can be challenging. I have two classrooms at both schools to support my students. Both schools are within five minutes of each other. This opportunity allows me to work with twice the amount of students.
My third and second graders enjoy hands-on activities, as well as getting the opportunity to be creative and explore the world.
We enjoy doing small group work and rotations. It is important for us to interact with others and get learning to come off of the paper.
While I can take some materials with me between schools, I need to leave other materials behind. My students deserve to have classrooms that are fully stocked with materials for their needs. I am a new teacher and working towards getting more materials for my students.
My Project
I am working towards bringing flexible seating to my classroom. Children spend many hours of the school day in the same seats. Flexible seating would allow them to get up and move to a new section of the room to work. In return, this allows them to work with new students. These chairs will help to foster collaboration between students who might not always get the opportunity to work together. In addition, these chairs can be seen as a fun reward for students. Students will work hard knowing they can earn the chance to sit in these fun flexible chairs.
