While our students at PPS are known for their high academic achievement and an all around commitment to success, they also belong to a school district with 70% of all students falling below the poverty line. We encourage our students to look past their goals and achieve more than any requirements set for them. Throughout the year, we are constantly celebrating student success in not only academics, but behavior, attendance, and positive social interactions. The faculty and staff members here at Phillips are committed to molding and forming both successful students and well-rounded citizens.
Our students never cease to amaze us!
We are constantly recognizing individual student achievement as well as chart-topping scores on standardized tests. We set challenging goals, and our students surpass even our highest expectations. We understand the importance of not just knowing our students can be successful, but making sure that they, too, know their full potential!
My Project
"Traveling the world" can be found at the top of many bucket lists. There are so many beautiful places to visit and so many wonderful things to experience all around the globe. Unfortunately, many of our students will never have the opportunity to leave the state of Alabama, much less travel the world.
With Oculus Go Goggles, our students will be able to explore the many wonders of the world without leaving the Library Media Center.
Students will be able to create personal experiences and connections with the places and landmarks they are learning about in the classroom. From the Great Barrier Reef in Australia to the mysterious Stonehenge monument in the United Kingdom, there is no limit to where our students can go when they are wearing the Oculus Go Goggles.
